Wow. Episode 100. Come for an insanely grateful host, stay for twitter sleuthing with bad intentions, Dwight continuing to Dwight, the MAC pirate flag, and all the news that's fit to annoy from NFL training camps. Bask in my rightness about the College Football Playoff, celebrate the GOAT, and don't miss your chance to lose to me in a public forum.

Phenom, Ashley and Kriss review Eighth Grade. This is a great movie that is an early award season contender. This film is great not only for adults but for kids as well. An introverted teenage girl tries to survive the last week of her disastrous eighth grade year before leaving to start high school.

Blindspotting continues a trend we've seen this year of relevant black films set in Oakland. This is a film you're going to need to see at least twice. There are things dropped at the beginning of the film that get tied back in at the end. Like Sorry to Bother You and Get Out, Blindspotting is going to lead to some good discussions and is a film everyone should see. Phenom & Kriss discuss the movie as well as the Q&A Phenom sat in on after the film.

It's the end of July so it's time for another Mailbag episode. Kriss and Dpalm go through listener emails, hot topics and discuss their Pull-List for the month. This month's episode is a bit longer than usual but that's because it's right after San Diego Comic-Con so we have a LOT to discuss. Topics:

For a show that so many people complain about, Teen Titans Go seems to keep winning. The cartoon does fine and now, they've gone big time and are hitting theaters. Does it work? Of course it does. Find out what's so great about Teen Titans Go To The Movies and ask yourself why DC Animation understands these comic book characters but their live action side struggles. Like what you hear? The dog days of summer should belong solely to Major League baseball, but between the commissioner picking a fight with a modern day Babe Ruth, that player's team shooting back at the commissioner's office, and a pitcher's racist tweets, there just isn't room for America's former pastime. Plus, NBA and NFL off-seasons have been full of needed hold outs and insane guaranteed money. And we finish talking about redemption; who gets it, who shouldn't, an a path towards earning some. We tried y'all. We really did. The series final episodes had a lot of filler, some great character moments, and set up something promising-and then wimped out in the end. We discuss why 12 Monkeys did not live up to the promise of the first season, and the problem with comaparing apples and avocados. We also discuss the problem with current fandom, particularly individuals being upset that not everyone likes the same thing, and how liking something doesn't make it good. Like what you hear? The Equalizer 2 is a perfect example of how Antoine Fuqua is king of the "B Movie". This isn't a knock against him as there need to be more quality B movie action films. To me a B Movie is a film that is good enough to keep your attention for 1 or 2 viewings but you eventually forget about it. While you watch it, you enjoy it but soon after, you've forgotten it. That explains The Equalizer 2. It knows that audiences are just here to see Denzel kicking ass and that as long as they get that, they won't care about the weak main story or uninteresting side plots. I'll take more Equalizer 2 movies over things like The Commuter and ever other Liam Neeson film where he phones it in for 99.9% of the film.

We're continuing our Summer of Character Corner expansions with a new Character Corner/Comic Book Book Club hybrid. We're kicking off our discussion of Jonathan Hickman's Marvel run by discussing his wonderful Fantastic Four Run. Hickman fundamentally changed the Marvel Universe, starting in 2009 with Secret Warriors all the way through the 2015 Secret Wars. We'll be revisiting Secret Wars (And S.H.I.E.L.D.) next month and wrapping up with Avengers/New Avengers/Secret Wars. But we decided to start with Fantastic Four since the founding family of Marvel will be returning with their own solo book written by Dan Slott next month. Also, we've referenced this run a lot (From our Doctor Doom Part 3 to Black Panther to our Premium New Avengers/Secret Wars Comic Book Book Clubs) but we've never sat down and made it our focus. That changes now. Issues/Reading Order:
